This book is the result of Anderson Dall'Alba's PhD thesis about the notion of civic square in Modern Architecture. The main challenge for this project was layouting all the different kinds of information, such as text, footnotes, titles, images, timelines etc, into one cohesive piece. As a starting point, two fonts with distinct characteristics were selected for this project: Neue Haas Grotesk was used for the technical parts, creating a structure to the page, and Arnheim, a serif font, was used in the main text for improved legibility. The result translates into the book pages the modernist architectural concept of service and served spaces.
