3rd Place in National Design Competition
National competition to design the expansion for the Union of Engineers headquarters in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The new building will house additional office spaces, leisure spaces, an exhibition area and an auditorium. The project opted to use the floor levels of the preexisting building so that it could make use of the vertical circulation cores and facilitate the traffic of people between both buildings. The program was divided in three categories according to spatial needs and the desired degree of exposure. The programas that are benefited by a constant influx of people are located on the ground floor, near the public access: the shop, cafe and exhibition space. Access to the auditorium is done on the second floor, while office spaces and meeting rooms are all located on the upper floors.
